A new year and some new opportunities
Well, it is along time since I last posted. 2013 was a mixed year. Awesome personal life. Less than awesome work life.
This year is a year to be creative and try and write something everyday; whether that is something new or revisions.
I am re-reading The Lord of the Rings and trying to catch up on piles of movies. I am finally going to see The Hobbit DOS.
So, onto a new year ripe with possibilities and new adventures.

Delayed reactions
The Avengers was fantastic. I saw it on the day of release and both myself and my fiancee loved it. It was funny, action packed and exactly what you need from a blockbuster. Only it had more heart and soul. Why? Joss. The main man. After Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, Dollhouse and Dr Horrible how could it be any less than full of awesome.
Prometheus is not to be considered as being an Alien film. I think too many people have expected too much in that regard. It shares the same universe and there is a slight moment near the end which is Alienesque and a slight mis-step. Overall it is a good sf film with some intruiging questions left hanging.
The new 52. Batman is great. Scott Snyder has produced a strong bat tale. Justice League was weird. What have they done to Superman? I haven't read Superman or Action Comics yet so don't know the overall context, but in JL he is a bit of a dick.
I have read Elantris and Warbreaker and after reading the Mistborn series a couple of years ago really like Brandon Sanderson's work.

DC or Marvel?
I have been reading a lot of comics recently. And buying a lot. Although I love both DC and Marvel it got me thinking. Which universe would be best to live in? Which would be the most exciting and thrilling? Which characters would it be fun to meet? There is a question to ponder.
While I'm on a comic theme- roll on The Avengers movie. Heroes and Joss. Cool.
Before Watchmen. Folly or inspired? DC have put together a good roster of writers. It could have potential. Alan Moore's response was predictable.

How long?
2011 passed in a blur. House move. Marriage proposal. Acceptance. Best day of my life. Holiday in beautiful Florence. Non-stop. But fantastic. Yet I have abandoned my poor blog. Here I am blog. You are not forgotten!

Into the sixth month
Nearly half the year has zipped past.
Where has it gone?
Working.
Moving house.
Being creative.
But the blog is still here.
And so I am.

Twenty Eleven
is well upon us. Where does time go?
The best album of 2010 was Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys by My Chemical Romance. An inventive, catchy and downright awesome piece of musicalness.
The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson was an excellent set of books.
I have been working my way through Asimov's Foundation sequence.
Watched Dollhouse Season 2. A bit rushed in parts, but underrated and sadly cancelled before its time. Fringe Season 2. The show that keeps getting better.
The Wrestler. great film.
That's it for now.

Na Na Na
What a great song. What a great video.
I bought, read and enjoyed The Umbrella Academy (The Apocalypse Suite and Dallas). I was pleasantly surprised at how well written and inventive the stories are. Then Na Na Na comes along to show that Gerard Way has a wonderfully unique mind full of artistry.
Looking forward to Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
Onwards to Battery City.
